The Stella Artois Championships Introduces New Measures To Meet Record Ticket Demand

More fans than ever before will have the opportunity of attending the Stella Artois Championships after new measures have been introduced to meet record ticket demand for the 2007 tournament, which takes place June 11-17 at The Queen’s Club.
A new ballot scheme will see 500 pairs of tickets being distributed to previously unsuccessful ticket applicants as part of new enhancements to the Priority Booking System operated by the Championships.
The Priority Booking System, whereby booking forms are sent to all those on the Championships’ mailing list in January of each year and then returned by applicants in early February, ensures tickets are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. The introduction of the ballot scheme will mean unsuccessful applicants will be given another chance to attend the Stella Artois Championships.
Other changes to the Booking System will see the number of tickets each applicant can apply for reduced from eight to six to ensure a higher number of successful applicants.
“We believe the Priority Booking System is the fairest way of allocating our tickets,” said Tim Hunt, Event Director of the Stella Artois Championships. “The introduction of the ballot scheme within the Priority Booking System will increase the number of fans receiving tickets and will encourage new applicants.”
As always at the tournament, touting is taken very seriously with every measure taken to ensure that those selling tickets on internet sites are identified and any tickets voided. These tickets are then resold directly back to unsuccessful applicants or via the telephone hotline.
Priority Booking for the 2007 tournament has now closed. From April, Ground Admissions as well as any unsold or returned Centre Court tickets will go on sale via the official Stella Artois Championships website and telephone hotline. For further info please click here.
