Croatia’s Mario Ancic has been forced to withdraw from The Artois Championships, which takes place at the Queen’s Club in London, 11-17 June.
Ancic has not been able to compete on the ATP circuit since February because of mononucleosis. He hoped to be fit in time to compete at The Artois Championships for the fourth time, but was forced to admit defeat.
The Artois Championships will still feature one of its best-ever fields, with World No.2 Rafael Nadal, former World No.1’s Lleyton Hewitt, Andy Roddick and Marat Safin, British duo Andy Murray and Tim Henman, and Top Ten players Ivan Ljubicic, Novak Djokovic and Fernando Gonzalez all competing.
Hewitt will feature in Episode 8 of the Artois Tennis Podcast, which will be available to download from iTunes and the Artois Championships website from Monday 4th June.
The doubles draw will feature the Bryan Brothers – Mike and Bob, and Andy Murray’s brother, Jamie.
