Hawk-Eye Is Back; Extra Seats Sold
Back to list >
2008 will see the popular return of the electronic line-calling
system 'Hawk-Eye'.
Once again, giant screens will be installed at opposite ends of
the centre court showing replays of line-calls 'challenged' by players.
The technology has been greeted with huge acclaim among players,
spectators and the media.
"I think Hawk-Eye is great," said Andy Roddick. "I've always been
one of its biggest supporters. I like everything about it. I think
it's great for the fans, it adds another dimension to watching it
on TV, and it takes some heat off the umpires a little bit - takes
human error out of it. It's better for me personally, because it
means that I spend less time whining about line-calls!"
Also in 2008, more people than ever before will be able to enjoy
The Artois Championships. The Centre Court capacity has been increased
to 6869 seats and Court One has 971 seats on sale to the public
(Monday - Friday) for the first time.
