Italian sportswear company Fila is to be the new Official Clothing Supplier to The Artois Championships, the tournament has announced.

The two-year contract will see Fila UK provide the Official Merchandise range at the Artois Championships as well as custom-made products for all event staff and officials.

The deal comes as part of Fila’s renewed investment in British tennis in 2008, which includes sponsorship of a select number of elite senior and junior players such Josh Goodall, James Ward, Marcus Willis, Neil Pauffley and Stephanie Cornish.

Marc Travis, marketing manager at Fila UK said: “Tennis has been an essential part of the Fila heritage and this significant investment into British Tennis is a great opportunity to re-invigorate our image within the sport. 2008 also represents the 35th anniversary of Fila’s involvement in tennis.”

Chris Kermode, Tournament Director of The Artois Championships said: “We are delighted to welcome Fila as our newest partner to The Championships. To have an association with such an established and credible tennis brand as Fila is another endorsement of the event and its place in the British sporting calendar.”

The 2008 Artois Championships takes place at The Queen’s Club between June 9-15.
