court title.
Sixth seed Sebastien Grosjean moved through to the third round of the Stella Artois Championships with a comfortable 6-3, 6-4 victory over Michel Kratochvil.
Grosjean, who received a wild card into the tournament, had never progressed beyond the second round at The Queen's Club in his two previous appearances in 1999 and 2000.
But the Frenchman, who had a bye in the first round, had little trouble finding the grass court game that won him the title in Nottingham in 2000, as he earned a place in the last 16 against either Todd Reid.
Meanwhile, Taylor Dent confirmed his status as a possible contender for the title with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over fellow American Cecil Mamiit. Dent, a winner on the grass courts of Newport last year, captured the second ATP title of his career earlier this year in Memphis, overcoming Andy Roddick in the final.
He now meets No. 5 seed Sjeng Schalken in the third round after the Dutchman received a walkover following the withdrawal of Todd Martin due to a chest injury.
Elsewhere on day three, Switzerland's Marc Rosset upset No. 9 seed Jarkko Nieminen 7-5, 7-5 to earn a meeting with No. 8 seed Xavier Malisse, while Dick Norman defeated Andre Sa in straight sets.
Frenchman Cyril Saulnier caused an upset when he defeated No. 12 seed Max Mirnyi 7-6(2), 6-4 to earn a third round meeting with Britain's Tim Henman. It will be the first meeting between them.
And Richard Krajicek booked his spot against second seed Andre Agassi with a 7-5, 2-6, 6-3 victory over Jan Vacek. With their head-to-head series tied at 3-3, it will be their first meeting since Stuttgart in 1998.
