British Prime Minister Tony Blair lent a forehand to Sport relief, a new fundraising initiative, when he joined up with Pat Cash, Ilie Nastase and BBC impressionist Alistair McGowan in a celebrity doubles match after the singles final at the Stella Artois Championships.
Blair, a regular doubles player, was sponsored by friends, family and colleagues to play in the surprise match which took place in front of an astonished crowd of 6,000 people.
"I want as many people as possible to go out and support Sport Relief this summer. The campaign is a great idea," he said.
Sport relief is a new fundraising campaign from Comic Relief and BBC Sport that aims to unite the world of sport and inspire the UK public to raise money for vulnerable children and young people.
