Nadal is seeded to meet No. 5 Ivan Ljubicic of Croatia in the quarterfinals, with a potential semifinal against either fourth seed Novak Djokovic or former World No. 1 Marat Safin.
In the bottom half of the draw, three-time Artois champion Andy Roddick, the No. 2 seed, will face either Radek Stepanek or Italian veteran Davide Sanguinetti in his opening match, with a potential quarterfinal against either Hewitt or Henman.
